Sorry , It's me again , but I have a small garden in my front yard , and what are some plants that are safe for cats, to be around, I'm going to the store today , and I need to find some pretty safe plants
Flowers for a garden?
if you plan to plant flowers in the front of your house
i would first plant a shrurb in the middle and choose
preanuals or anuals flowers as far as catnip i wold not plant you realy do not want your cat and every cat in your garden,,, and being cat nip is a herb like oregano or mint
it will take over the ground and think cats love to dig in
the soil and most use the soil as a litter box,,,
try a bush with flowers and plant ...in the spring the many
beautiful different flowers of your choice and colors.
with a little imagination....you can buy or collect your own rocks.....or pepbles buy garden magazines you will get wonderfull ideas good luck... i beleive cats are indoor
pets and dont belong in the gardens as they
love to go after birds especialy in the spring
when they are nesting
Reply:Well, you have enough suggestions for catnip...but there's also panseys, begonias, tulips, marigolds, petunias, impatience (may be misspelled), dusty millers, snapdragons...cats like most flowers, but not to eat. At least, mine do.
Reply:catnip
your cats will love you forever
Reply:Plant some catnip. Cats love it, and if you like you can use the leaves to make catnip tea for your self. It has a relaxing effect on the body and it's perfectly legal. The seeds are cheap, about 97 cents for a pack of several hundred seeds. It is easy to plant, and will grow in just about any soil. It is a perennial, meaning that it will come up every year.Your cats will love it. and it is a perfectly safe herb. Enjoy
Reply:Well there is a whole lot of beautiful plants to choose from. Most cats will leave plants alone. It's small children and dogs that get too adventuresome. http://landscaping.about.com/od/poisonou... This is a good article to read and gives a few plants to avoid. Have a wonderful garden.
Reply:Try growing catnip
Reply:Catnip is great for the cat, you can also put some bulbs in. Most bulb plants are fine. Stay away from lavendar as bees will hurt your cat when it thinks they are toys. Also check with them at the store for other animal friendly plants.
Reply:I don't know the climate where you live but you could try :mums, marigolds, petunias, that's just a few that are really pretty! The only one's i can think of that you wouldn't want to get are "cactus". I love gardening. we live in an apartment so we don't have a yard right now! Good Luck!!
