First you will have flowers, When the flowers shrivel, there will be a small growth forming which should be a cucumber. Patience, my friend, Patience!!
I have a cucumber garden they are growing on a fence and have lots of flowers and no cucumbers?what should Ido
Give it some time. The flowers are what turns into cucs. By the end of the summer you'll have more than you will know what to do with.
Reply:cucumbers need to be on the ground and need lots of water. the next time you drink some coffee throw the grounds on the ground around it. you can also get some lime dust to put on them so the bugs don't go after them. my dad always used that and animal waste to help his grow and we always had a lot of them. you can get manure at any nursery.
Reply:Be patient and the cucumbers will grow.
Reply:Wait! The cucumbers will grow from the flowers.
Reply:Cucumbers take time to go from flowers to vegetables.
Just leave them alone, on a fence is fine, and hopefully they will be pollinated by bees. You can also try plating a few annual flowers to help lure bees in.
In a short while you'll see tiny little cucumbers on them and you can pick them when they are a couple inches long for gherkins, or let them grow to 4 to 6 inches for slicers. If they get too big they become bitter, so it's best to pick them at under 8 inches at tops.
